The short version.
My name is Karsten Seipp and I am currently working as a UX Engineer (Design) for Google Sweden. Before this, I was working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at KU Leuven. My research during this time was focussed on on-body interaction and visual analytics. In addition, I supervised Jeroen Reinenbergh's thesis on emotion-aware recommender systems. Before moving to Academia (and back), I worked as Senior Digital Designer/Developer at Imperial College London and held various positions at other companies, focussing on digital design and development.
I have earned my PhD at Goldsmiths (UOL) in 2015 for my thesis "Improving one-handed interaction with touchscreen smartphones", supervised by Kate Devlin and examined by Sriram Subramarian and Atau Tanaka.
During my PhD I researched mobile interaction design and techniques with an emphasis on enhancing one-handed interaction using either back-of-device gestures or adapted interfaces.
